The 2020 St Andrews Community Partnership Low Carbon Community (LCC) study, undertaken in conjunction with NS Energy & Mines support grant, identified SASHA as a major energy user in the community’s six partners participating in the project. With the SASHA Board of Directors applying for an EffNS Energy Efficiency upgrade to reduce electrical energy consumption by a predicted 9,650 kwh/year. they further supported a Solar PV installation.
The project was able to proceed with the co-operation of East Coast Credit Union’s provision of the south-facing property adjoining the SASHA property. The Solar PV system installed is a 30kw(AC) ground-mount comprised of 84 405watt bi-facial panels computed to offset an additional 45,000 kwh/annum in the net-metering agreement.
