The Highlander Curling Club in St. Andrews, along with other curling clubs in Nova Scotia, are collecting donations for the Sandra Schmirler Foundation. The Sandra Schmirler Foundation donates money to Newborn Intensive Care Units (NICUs) across the country, including hospitals in Nova Scotia. Donations will be presented by the Nova Scotia Curling Association to the foundation at the Scott Tournament of Hearts in Sydney, NS in February 2019.
The Highlander Curling Club will be collecting donations until the end of January 2019. Donations can be made in person at the club bar. The foundation also collects donations on their website: https://www.sandraschmirler.org/english/
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the Annual General Meeting of the St. Andrews Seniors Housing Association (S.A.S.H.A.). The AGM takes place on Sunday February 10, 2019 at noon in the main hall of the St. Andrews Community Centre. S.A.S.H.A. oversees the running of a 16 unit affordable housing complex for seniors. The complex is located in the heart of the village of St. Andrews.
