St. Andrews & Districts Veterans Memorial Association

"The goal of the St. Andrews and Districts Memorial Association is to

establish a suitable memorial to recognize the contribution made

by men and women from our area towards World Peace."

• The Association has suggested this new veterans memorial will consist of:
  

(1) a stone monument with the names of those who served

(2) a memorial in book form containing the names and pictures of each person who served, a short description of each individual’s ancestry and the units in which they served

(3) a copy of the book will hopefully become an accessible link on the St. Andrews Community Partnership website

• The Association invites any interested persons to assist them in the establishment of this new memorial.

• Much work will be required to conduct the necessary research in order to identify approximately 300 persons from our area who served our country in World conflicts and Peace Keeping operations around the world.

• All interested individuals are invited to attend the St. Andrews & Districts Veterans Memorial Association founding meeting to be held June, 2010.  Meeting date, location and time TBA

• The Msgr. Hugh MacPherson Council 14596 Knights of Columbus will hold a fundraising breakfast on Sunday, May 16, 2010 at the St. Andrews Community Centre from 10am – 1:30pm.  Proceeds will be donated to the Memorial Monument Fund.
